Building History

On land that had been owned by A.J. Sargent, Lucien Ai Worthen (1889-1982) built this house in 1924. He was a caretaker of estates in New London and later worked for the NH Highway Department. His first wife, Mabelle Sanborn, died the first year of their marriage in 1910, and in 1913 he married Eunice (Gay) Prescott (c. 1888-1978), whose husband, Ashley Prescott, also died in 1910. Lucien and Eunice had two children — Ernest and Phyllis.
